Location
Broughton Astley is a large village located in the Harborough district of Leicestershire and is situated around 6 miles east of Hinckley and 9 miles from Leicester City Centre.
Transport
Broughton Astley is situated in an ideal location in the heart of England, within close proximity of the M1, M6 and M69 motorways with easy links into Leicester City Centre via car and bus. Birmingham and London are within reach and major international airport such as East Midlands and Birmingham are also in close proximity.
Education
Broughton Astley has an array of schools spread across the village. One is Orchard Primary School which is situated in the old "Primethorpe" area. The second is Old Mill Primary School which is the link of the village. The last is Hallbrook Primary School which is a new school not more than 20 years old in the New "Hall Farm" part of the village. Broughton Astley is also home to Thomas Estley Community College.
House Prices
Broughton Astley is seen as a desirable place to live, given its good transport links and semi-rural setting. This doesn’t mean that house prices in the area are extortionate however, and there are is a wide variety of properties available to fit most budgets.
According to rightmove.co.uk last year most property sales in Broughton Astley involved detached properties which sold for on average £311,432. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £203,588, while terraced properties fetched £169,464.
Broughton Astley, with an overall average price of £251,770 was cheaper than nearby Leire (£464,375), Cosby (£265,130) and Dunton Bassett (£348,700).
Leisure
Broughton Astley is home to a number of sporting facilities and clubs, including; Broughton Astley Football Club, Broughton Astley Cricket Club and Broughton Astley Running Group. The village centre also provides a wide range of shopping options from local supermarkets to small independent shops there’s something for everyone.
